Director of Marketing & Assistant Executive Director

Laura DayAltruistic by nature, Laura Day has always been in the business of helping others. She had the unique opportunity very early in her career to work in a pre-opening capacity for a resort property in California. After the first guest arrived, she knew she would make a career out of hospitality and assisting others. She spent 20 years in the hotel industry, assisting meeting planners, travel agents, international tour operators, and resort guests. She was extremely privileged to work and learn from someone who is considered one of the most customer service oriented Managing Directors in the country. While working in the hotel sector, she was co-chair for 12 years of committee which included a group of hoteliers who planned and hosted an all-day holiday outing for residents of a large local women and children’s shelter.

Then, in 2010, she was recruited by Holiday Retirement, which operates over 300 senior communities in the country, and she began her second career. She has worked in a marketing & operations capacity in the senior industry since that time. Prior to joining Bridgeport Senior Living in November, 2016, she worked for two other assisted living communities, one with a separate memory care cottage. She also managed a Care Patrol franchise, helping families of all income levels find assisted living and memory care communities in Seminole, Lake and West Volusia Counties.

Laura feels that every position she has ever held has prepared her to work for Bridgeport Senior Living, as the Bridgeport family exemplifies unparalleled customer service. She is passionate about helping seniors and their families. Because she is privileged at this time in her life to be able to assist her 88 year old mother, she is truly empathetic when she receives a call from a family in crisis, or from someone who is just starting the assisted living search process. She also enjoys sharing the Bridgeport Senior Living story with case managers, social workers, elder law attorneys, and others involved in helping seniors on a day to day basis. Laura completed her ALF Core Training in January and is currently preparing to take the ALF Core Competency Exam.

A Florida Native, Laura grew up in Seminole County, as NAS Sanford was her father’s last duty station before he retired from the Navy. Her father’s second career with Martin Marietta took her family to Kwajalein, a very small Island about halfway between Hawaii and Australia, in the Marshall Island Chain. Living here as a young teenager Laura was exposed to many different cultures and realized she had a passion for travel. Since that time, she has visited approximately 20 countries. She also enjoys the "beach life", following politics, cooking, reading, watching the Florida Gators play football, and spending quality time with her family & close friends.

Kaylee BeardKaylee Beard is the Administrator for Port Phillips, Port Isle, and Port Margate. She has over 6 years of experience in skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities. Growing up she was always very passionate about helping others. Her father was a contract painter that painted many nursing homes. She remembers while helping him, she became very concerned with the care the patients in those facilities were receiving. She found herself, at 12 years old, building beautiful relationships with the residents, and learning more about age related illnesses. She knew then that she wanted to be in the medical field, and her goal was to make sure her future patients would always receive the best care.

Kaylee graduated from Freedom High School in Orlando in 2009. She was very involved in sports, in and out of school. She played varsity softball, and was very active in darts, and paintball. In 2010 she moved to North Carolina and attended Maryland Community College and received her Certified Nursing Assistant license. From there Kaylee began working in a 100 bed facility in Mars Hill, NC where she gained recognition for her calm demeanor, and exceptional CNA skills. In 2013 she started working in a smaller 36 bed skilled nursing facility in Hendersonville, NC. There she further developed her skills, and learned more about the benefits of smaller patient to caregiver ratios.

Towards the end of 2013, Kaylee moved back home to Orlando, FL and began working as a caregiver for Bridgeport Senior Living. Shortly after, she was promoted to a Team Leader position where she managed resident’s medication and assisted with overall management for Port Isle. In 2014 she was promoted again to Assistant Administrator for all Bridgeport homes. At this time, she also began attending Valencia Community College for her R.N. degree. She worked closely alongside Dana Weaver, and learned more about the administrative side to assisted living facilities while still fulfilling her role as Team Leader for Port Isle. In October 2015 she successfully completed CORE competency exam and became in eligible administrator in the state of FL. In April 2016, after gaining the right amount experience under previous administrators, she was promoted to administrator and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her as part of our leadership team!

Our Founder & Managing Partner

Bridgeport Senior Living's Founder and Managing Partner was inspired by his grandfather to pursue his lifelong work in senior living. After the death of his grandmother, he faced the difficult decision of selecting the most appropriate senior living community for his grandfather.  As a young adult, he would often visit his grandfather suffering from dementia at a gloomy and sad "old folk’s home.” Day after day, the elderly men and women stared sadly and silently out their windows and his heart went out to them. This created a desire to change the way people thought seniors should live.  He spent 4 years managing Skilled Nursing Facilities in both Southern and Northern California to prepare himself before opening high-quality homes for seniors with dementia.

Our commitment is to provide thoughtful care for your loved ones as if they were our own family members.

A private, family-owned company founded in 2012, Bridgeport Senior Living offers the finest homes in senior lifestyle and living options in the Central Florida marketplace. Because not everyone’s needs are the same, the Bridgeport Senior Living homes are suited to meet the many stages of dementia that a senior may be experiencing.
